Dr. Gwennyth Palafox, a clinical psychologist in Pasadena, will lead a panel discussion of practical ways parents can help their adolescent children make a smooth transition to adulthood. The presentation is designed for teens with special needs and their parents. Dr. Palafox will be joined by Dr. Jessica Romeyn and Anya Perea. The event will be held Tuesday, April 9, at The Frostig Center in Pasadena.

Panelists will share 10 steps that parents and teens can take right now to prepare for the future. The discussion will focus on skills that adults must have, including but not limited to finances, mobility, emotional regulation, and healthy separation of an adolescent child from his/her parent.

Dr. Romeyn has more than a decade of experience in educating and treating individuals with and without special needs across their lifespan. Ms. Perea is a Master’s level clinician who has dedicated her career to working with children and adolescents in both educational and clinical settings.
