Pasadena Therapist Under Arrest For Sexual Assault

On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 an adult, female victim reported to the Pasadena Police she was sexually assaulted by a marriage and family licensed therapist, suspect, Edgar Gustavo Villamarin, during her appointment that took place on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at his office located in Pasadena at 100 Orange Pl.

Pasadena Police detectives continued the investigation and an additional follow up yielded corroborating evidence of the sexual assault allegation. On Nov. 27, 2018, Villamarin was arrested for sexual battery. Villamarin posted bond shortly after his arrest and was released with an arraignment date of Jan. 10, 2019.

Further investigation efforts by Pasadena Police detectives now focused on a documented Pasadena Police case from Jan. 11, 2016, with similar allegations of sexual assault alleged by another adult, female victim. The victim also alleged a sexual assault occurred at Villamarin’s office during a scheduled appointment.

On Jan. 9, 2019 the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office filed the following charges for both documented incidents against Villamarin: two counts of assault with intent to commit a felony, two counts of false imprisonment by violence, two counts of sexual battery by restraint, and one count of attempted sexual battery by restraint. Bail was set at $450,000. On Jan. 10, 2019 suspect Villamarin was arraigned on all charges, and posted bail with a new arraignment date set for Feb. 28, 2019.

Based on the investigative findings, the Pasadena Police is releasing Villamarin’s photo as part of this press release, asking if anyone has been a victim of a crime as a result of Villamarin to contact the Pasadena Police Department immediately.
