Breakfast on Nov. 17

The Pasadena Police Department is honored to support the Pasadena Salvation Army’s official start of their holiday fundraising campaign with the 4th Annual Red Kettle Kickoff Breakfast on Nov. 17 at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium. Breakfast will be served at 7 a.m. in the all new UCLA Locker Room and will conclude at 10 a.m.

NBC4 Weather Man Fritz Coleman will return as the emcee and NBC4 Southern California President and General Manager Steve Carlson is the keynote speaker. Guests, many alumni of USC and UCLA alumni and supporters, will battle against each other’s school to raise funds for the numerous programs sponsored by the Pasadena Salvation Army, including meal deliveries, holiday gifts and food for underprivileged families, and care for inbound seniors and the homeless. The friendly competition to raise funds is very appropriate given the USC vs UCLA football game, one of the most revered college rivalries in the country, will be played the day after the breakfast. Coldwell Banker is a proud Gold Level Sponsor and breakfast includes a spirited live auction to win a private tour of the Jay Leno Garage. In 2016 alone, The Salvation Army, Pasadena Tabernacle provided the following important services:

– 6,033 meals and/or food boxes were provided

– 73,905 nights of housing to men/women in recovery and low-income seniors

– 688 Thanksgiving dinners served and 605 Christmas food boxes provided

– 216 clothing vouchers provided

– 1,900 kids received Christmas toys

– 175 kids received back-to-school clothing & supplies & breakfast before school

– 53 underprivileged high school girls were provided with a prom dress

– 288 weekly attendees in our after-school youth and music programs, and more

The public is welcome to make a donation through the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle VW Bug during the breakfast. The “Kettle Bug” accepts cash and credit/debit card donations and will be parked in front of the Rose Bowl Stadium, lot A, and a Salvation Army representative will be present to assist the public.
