Pasadena Crime Blotters: Aug 21 – Sept 8

Aug. 21

At about 8:10 a.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to a call of a non-responsive infant in the 100 block of North Sierra Bonita Avenue. On arrival, officers were directed to the infant and immediately began life-saving efforts. PFD arrived and, despite our best efforts, the infant was pronounced dead. PPD detectives were notified, along with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. At the family’s request, PPD officer located a priest who responded to the incident and attended to the family.

 

Aug. 22

At about 1:30 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the Colorado Street Bridge regarding a possible jumper. On arrival, officers contacted a male subject standing on the edge of the bridge. Officers talked with the subject, who subsequently surrendered. The subject was taken to a local hospital for mental health evaluation.

 

Aug. 23

At about 2:39 p.m., PPD officers responded to the 1100 block of Medford Road regarding a residential burglary in progress. A witness reported that two males jumped the fence into the victim’s back yard. Additional witnesses reported that the suspects were driving away from the location in a vehicle. PPD officers saw the suspect’s vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop. Three suspects were subsequently arrested for burglary and booked at the Pasadena jail.

 

Aug. 25

Special Enforcement Section (SES) officers served a search warrant in the 2200 block of North Glenrose Avenue, Altadena. The warrant was based on a crime involving a dangerous weapon which occurred in Pasadena on July 22. During the search, SES officers recovered a firearm which had been used in the ADW (Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon). The suspect, an admitted gang member, was arrested without incident and booked at the Pasadena jail. The weapon was booked as evidence.

 

Sept. 5

At about 6:36 p.m., Special Enforcement Section (SES) officers conducted an enforcement stop in the 300 block of North Wilson Avenue. During the field investigation, SES officers determined that the suspect was in possession women’s jewelry, computers, and identification belonging to a female. Further investigation determine that a residential burglary occurred a short distance away from the stop. The resident was contacted and subsequently identified some of the property. The suspect was arrested without incident and booked at the Pasadena Police jail for burglary.

 

Sept. 6 

At about 1:18 a.m., Pasadena Police officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Foothill Boulevard and San Gabriel Boulevard. During the stop, officers were alerted that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of the City of Los Angeles. The suspect driver was arrested without incident.

 

Sept. 8

At about 3:15 p.m. Pasadena Police officers responded to an attempted suicide investigation in the 100 block of E. Holly Street. On arrival officers located the victim who had jumped from the parking structure at 150 E. Union Street. The subject suffered severe injuries was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
