July 13
At 10:14 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the 1800 block of Lincoln Avenue regarding a call of a parked suspicious vehicle. On arrival, officers contacted the occupants and detected a strong odor of marijuana. During the field investigation, officers recovered numerous packages of hash oil and a sum of US currency, which was consistent with sales or distribution. The suspects were arrested and booked at the Pasadena jail.
July 20
At 4:48 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the 3200 block of Colorado Boulevard regarding a female yelling for help. On arrival, officers detained a suspect who appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. During the investigation, and without warning, the suspect became combative. The officers restrained the suspect without further incident.
At 5:59 p.m., the Pasadena Police Department received a call about a missing adult. The caller indicated that her husband was missing (along with his personal vehicle) and he was suffering from poor health. Officers documented the incident and started searching for the victim. He was later found unresponsive in his vehicle. The Pasadena Fire Department was called and pronounced the victim dead. There was no evidence of foul play.
At 7:03 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the 900 block of Bell Street regarding a domestic dispute. On arrival, officers learned that the victim and suspect had an ongoing feud over their pets. While arguing about the pets, the suspect assaulted the victim and threatened to kill him. The victim was transported to a local hospital and the suspect was arrested without incident. The suspect was later booked at the Pasadena jail on assault charges.
July 21
At about 9:15 p.m., Pasadena Police officers assigned to the Special Enforcement Section (SES) were on routine patrol in the 100 block of East Sacramento Avenue when they observed a suspicious vehicle from a previous criminal case. The officers conducted an enforcement stop and during their field investigation, observed a firearm that had been discarded (within the car). The suspect driver was arrested without incident for possession of a firearm, which was fully loaded. This case is a great example of the daily proactive police work delivered by our first responders. To date, Pasadena Police officers have seized more than 100 firearms in our community.
July 22
At 12 a.m., Pasadena Police officers assigned to the Special Enforcement Section (SES) received information from their counterparts in the Field Operations Division (FOD) that Alan Johnson (male, Black adult) was wanted for a domestic violence and an outstand want for robbery in San Bernardino County. SES officers located Johnson at his residence and arrested him without incident. During their field investigation, SES officers located and recovered a loaded handgun, an additional loaded pistol clip, and two loaded 40-round assault rifle magazines. This case is a great example of the daily proactive policing by SES officers and Field Operations Division personnel.
