Emergency Personnel, Scout Troop, and Family to Unite and Honor Boy Scout

On Jan. 28, fire personnel were dispatched to a possible stroke victim in a vehicle with his four children and family dog. The victim’s son, Evan, called 911 because he recognized his father was experiencing signs of a stroke. Evan is a local Boy Scout and had recently learned about the signs of stroke and heart attacks in a meeting with his troop. As a result, Evan played a key role in the care and safety of his father before fire units arrived. Evan will be recognized by the fire department and given an award by the American Stroke Association on Wednesday Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at Fire Station 31 (135 S. Fair Oaks Ave.).
