January 28

At about 11:30 p.m., a male Hispanic adult approached two subjects who were sitting on the curb near Carmelo Avenue and Lambert Drive. The male Hispanic suspect brandished a firearm and demanded money from the victims. The victims responded that they had no money. The suspect then fled the area. Pasadena Police officers responded to investigate the incident. Despite a comprehensive search of the area the officers did not locate the suspect.

January 29

On Jan. 1, three suspects committed an armed (knife and “BB” gun resembling a pistol) robbery, stealing a “track bicycle” from the victim. Two suspects were arrested for their involvement in the robbery; however, the third suspect (juvenile) was able to evade the police. The case was assigned to Pasadena Police Detective Burris who, with the assistance of our School Resource Officers, attempted to locate the suspect. Detective Burris created and distributed a wanted flyer to her coworkers. On Jan. 29, Pasadena Police Officers White and Sailor were looking for the robbery suspect. At about 1:30 p.m., the officers saw the suspect in the area of the 800 block of North El Molino Avenue. He was subsequently arrested without incident.

At about 9:27 p.m., Special Enforcement Section (SES) Officers Ling and Rosen were on proactive patrol in the area of Garfield Avenue and Parke Street. The officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle turned east onto Parke street, when without warning, the passenger jumped out of the car holding a handgun. Officers Ling and Rosen chased the suspect, who threw the handgun onto a residential rooftop. The suspect was detained without incident and the handgun (loaded) was recovered. The suspect was a felon. Very proactive police work by Officers Ling and Rosen. Their efforts removed another gun from our community!
