The Monrovia City Council is creating an ad hoc committee to review city policies, procedures, programs and to recommend areas in need of improvements. The purpose of the review is to understand where racial discrimination, bias or unfair treatment exists within city operations.

The citizen committee will provide insight, guidance and recommendations — as well as a report — to the City Council. The overall effort will also provide a platform for community outreach, education and change where it is needed.

Councilmember Larry Spicer will be working with the city manager to prepare an agenda item for council consideration at its next meeting on Tuesday, July 7.
