While courts are usually frequented by police officers, Monrovia firefighters will head to the court on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. It will, however, be a basketball court where they will face off against Monrovia police officers in the annual Battle of the Badges at the Monrovia High School gym. Tickets are only $5 with youngsters under 12 going in free. Proceeds from the event will go to the City of Hope. There will even be a food truck on site starting at 5:30 p.m.

Fire Chief Brad Dover says his team is preparing hard after last year’s defeat. “We had a lot of young personnel who were still in their probationary period and not eligible to play last year. We hope to do better this year.
