The City of Monrovia Community Services Department is now accepting applications for the city’s Youth Commission. Teens in sixth through 12th grade can take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference in the community.

The Youth Commission offers various professional development trainings intended to prepare young people for college and employment opportunities. Participants will be able to assist in several city-wide programs and events like the spring egg hunt, Monrovia Day, the holiday parade and Make a Difference Day.

Meetings are held every third Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the Monrovia Community Center (119 W. Pam Ave.). The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m. to be followed by a parent orientation at 5:30 p.m.

Applications can be found online at the city’s website. Contact Tiffany Peterson at (626) 256-8233 or tpeterson@ci.monrovia.ca.us with any questions.
