Mystery Messages on Monrovia Sidewalk Spread Positivity

Author Roy T. Bennett wrote, “Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people.” And a mystery Monrovia resident, or group or residents, seems to have taken that message to heart.

Monrovia resident Cathee Hill says she was out jogging Thursday morning on Hillcrest Boulevard, near Myrtle Avenue, when she came across positive messages written in chalk on the sidewalk. The messages read “Be brave,” “Believe in yourself,” and “You’re strong” among other things.

Hill shared, “It was amazing to see this morning running and it definitely helped me! [I] hope others get to enjoy them.” She would like to thank whoever wrote these inspiring messages and says it is “another reason to love Monrovia!”

We don’t know who wrote these messages but to whoever wrote them, thank you for reminding us to spread a little more kindness today.
