The city of Monrovia is holding its annual 4th of July celebration in Library Park culminating with fireworks at 9 p..m. There will be a free concert from the band Night Owl starting at 7 pm.

Those who wish to partake in the festivities can begin reserving spaces starting at 6 a.m. on July 4. These spaces must be supervised at all times meaning someone needs to be at the space all day (a canopy, table and chairs will not suffice). Thinking of canopies, there will be a Patriotic Canopy Decorating Contest with the most festive canopies receiving prizes.

Celebrate Independence Day in a traditional fashion — with the rest of the community.

For more information check the city’s website or call community services at (626)256-8246.
