The San Gabriel Valley Choral Company presents a concert entitled “All Souls’ Eve”. Complete with soloists and full choir, this moving concert features selections from Mozart’s Requiem, Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna, and more. Tickets are now available at the cost of $5 to $20. This concert marks the first full performance conducted by our new Artistic Director, Dr. Alexandra Grabarchuk. Dr. Grabarchuk is a Ukrainian-born musicologist and conductor with a PhD from the UCLA Department of Musicology. In addition to her position as Artistic Director of the SGVCC, she conducts and organizes the Contemporary Choral Collective of Los Angeles (C3LA). Dr. Grabarchuk is also a mezzo-soprano soloist with a wide variety of musical interests ranging from Renaissance polyphony to traditional Balkan singing. She currently teaches at Scripps College, Chaffey College, and Chapman University, and works as a score reader for the Metropolitan Opera. Her vision for the San Gabriel Valley Choral Company is built on the pillars of strong musicianship, diverse repertoire, and vibrant community. About SGVCC: Founded in 1995, the San Gabriel Valley Choral Company is a non-profit choir based in Monrovia, CA. The Choral Company performs three to four concerts per year, singing a broad repertoire that includes classical, spirituals, pop, jazz, opera, folk music, and musical theater. Comprised of singers from throughout the Southland, the choir provides an opportunity for its members to challenge themselves and to share their love of music with San Gabriel Valley residents.
