With the opening of the Metro Gold Line in 2016, Monrovia became connected to the rest of Los Angeles in a new and exciting way.  Monrovians can now take public transportation to downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, or Long Beach, and what’s more, the surrounding Southern California community has access to all the delights that Monrovia has to offer, including our Old Town, Canyon Park, and our Summer Concert Series.

The area surrounding the Metro Gold Line Station is also continuing to evolve and grow to take full advantage of the reliable light-rail connection to our region.  Developers have been looking to build high-density residential housing in and around our Station Square, and a new project has now been proposed west of the Gold Line Station at 1625 South Magnolia Avenue.  In order to solicit community input on the proposed project, called Alexan, a Public Scoping Meeting has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 7, 2017.  Additional details related to the meeting and the proposed project includes:

Meeting Details:
Date: Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Knights of Columbus Hall, 130 W. Pomona Avenue, Monrovia, California 91016

Proposed Development Details:

– 395 – 420 residential units

– 5 story residential building

– 6 story parking structure

Directly west of Metro Gold Line Station
