Methodist Hospital of Southern California and the American Red Cross will host four blood drives on the hospital campus during the coming weeks in an effort to relieve a local shortage.

The entire country is facing a severe blood shortage as the coronavirus outbreak has reduced donations at a time when demand remains strong. Nearly 2,700 Red Cross blood drives have been canceled across the country due to concerns about COVID-19, resulting in 86,000 fewer blood donations compared to last year. Please find the time to donate.

Methodist Hospital Blood Drives

Site: Lewis Hall at Methodist Hospital of Southern California, 300 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia.

Dates: Thursday, March 26; Tuesday, April 7; Tuesday, April 28; Wednesday, May 27

When: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sign up today by contacting Darlene Burge at (626) 574-3582.

This donation site will utilize social distancing in an effort to further reduce spread of the COVID-19 virus. Upon arriving, you will need to present a valid ID to donate.

Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every two to three seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime. The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors – like you – can fulfill that need for your local community.
