Freelancers — and anyone interested in starting or growing their own business — are invited to a free workshop at the Arcadia Public Library on “Freelancing 101: Building a Values-Focused Business,” on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 7–8:30 p.m. This workshop will help attendees consider their values and how they can do work that reflects those values; determine the value of their work; create a basic business budget; and learn basic negotiation strategies.

Jackie Lam, an L.A.-based content marketer and freelance writer, will be the presenter. She is passionate about helping creative freelancers with their finances and cultivating community among entrepreneurs. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies and FinTech start-ups. Her work has appeared in Forbes, Business Insider and GOOD.

For more information, call (626) 821-5569 or visit the Arcadia Public Library’s website at ArcadiaCA.gov/library. The Arcadia Public Library is located at 20 W. Duarte Road, Arcadia.
