The victim discovered two fraudulent Home Depot transactions on her checking account statement with a suspect listed as “Jose L. Contreras”. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained her personal information or the true identity of the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
June 24
Shortly before 3:08 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a bicyclist for failing to have the proper lighting. During a consensual search, the officer located stolen mail from nearby Arcadia addresses. The 28-year-old male from San Gabriel was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 8:56 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Fano Street regarding a vehicle burglary report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect entered the locked vehicle by unknown means and stole credit cards and cash. The suspect then attempted to use one of the credit cards at a nearby gas station, but the transaction was declined. The investigation is ongoing.
June 25
At approximately 12:28 a.m., an officer responded to Sphinx Tobacco and Mart, 411 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect smashed the front glass door with a brick and fled with electronic cigarettes and associated accessories. The investigation is ongoing.
Around 12:37 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Orlando Drive regarding a battery report. An altercation between husband and wife escalated when the 40-year-old male from Arcadia grabbed her by the arm, leaving a bruise. The male suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Shortly after 9:59 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a theft report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect entered the breakfast area of the Residence Inn, 321 E. Huntington Drive, and stole the victim’s unattended laptop. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a thin build, seen wearing a suit. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 10:40 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Baldwin Avenue and Gate 7 for making an illegal left turn. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the vehicle. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the suspect was driving with a blood alcohol content of .15%. The 33-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
June 26
At about 8:19 a.m., an officer responded to Farmers Insurance and KAC Design, separate units located at 145 E. Live Oak Ave., regarding two commercial burglary reports. An investigation revealed numerous units of the building were burglarized sometime during the previous night. The suspect(s) kicked open the doors, ransacked the offices, and fled with more than $8,000 worth of decorative lights and $300 worth of decorations. The investigation is ongoing.
June 27
Before 11:50 a.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. Surveillance video revealed unknown suspects stole the victim’s gardening equipment from the trunk of his vehicle at 10:37 on June 27. Suspect 1 is described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 35-years-old, 5-foot-9, approximately 350 pounds, with a shaved head and a goatee. Suspect 2 is described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 35-years-old, 5-foot-9, weighing about 180 pounds, seen wearing a dark baseball hat, black shirt, and blue jeans. They were driving a black four-door sedan, similar to a Nissan Altima. The investigation is ongoing.
June 28
At about 12:23 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Huntington Drive regarding the activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy bicycles with tracking devices to combat the increase in bike thefts throughout the city. An investigation revealed a 26-year-old male from Pasadena was in possession of the stolen bicycle, the GPS tracker, a methamphetamine pipe, stolen access cards, and burglary tools. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just before 2:22 p.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Greenfield Avenue and Live Oak Avenue for not having the front license plate. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered the 18-year-old male from Lakewood was driving without a license. During a search of the vehicle, the officer located burglary tools, and a records check revealed all three passengers were all on probation for robbery, burglary, and other crimes. A 17-year-old male from Los Angeles, a 17-year-old male from Lynnwood, and a 17-year-old male from Los Angeles were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Race Track, 285 West Huntington Drive, regarding a disturbance. An investigation revealed a boyfriend and girlfriend were arguing when the altercation escalated resulting in the female suspect scratching and pushing her boyfriend. The 30-year-old from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
June 29
At approximately 10:20 a.m., an officer responded to Knockouts Gentlemen’s Club, 1580 Clark St., regarding a robbery report. An altercation between a dancer’s current boyfriend and her ex-husband escalated resulting in the ex-husband and seven of his friends punching, kicking, and stomping on the victim before they stole his wallet, keys, and cellphone. The investigation is ongoing. The victim declined medical attention.
Around 12:52 p.m., an officer responded to Shanghailander Palace, 1440 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a vehicle burglary report. Surveillance footage captured two dark-skinned males smashing a rear window and fleeing with cash and luggage. The suspects fled in a silver Chrysler sedan. The investigation is ongoing.
