Family and friends of Lucille Marie Strizzi gathered at Vista Cove in Arcadia to celebrate Lucille’s 100th birthday on May 11, 2019.

Strizzi was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She is the fourth child out of 5 children, born to Dominic and Cecelia Strizzi. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Cleveland.

After high school she became an excellent seamstress and worked for many clothing designers. During WWII she worked in a factory making airplane parts. She came to California in 1965 and started working in the garment industry, working for Ernst Strauss and also for the movie studios.

Her favorite pastimes were dancing at the Palladium with friends and spending time with her adopted family. Her secret to a long and fulfilled life is working hard and making time to play a little and dance a lot.

She currently resides happily at the Vista Cove at Arcadia. Vista Cove’s Executive Director Noemi Biely stated, “We are honored to have Ms. Strizzi at Vista Cove at Arcadia and we look forward to celebrating her 101st birthday.”
