Fern and Exotic Plants Show at Arboretum in Arcadia

The Los Angeles International Fern Society (LAIFS) is having its annual judged show featuring prized displays of ferns, plus rare species and collectible plants filling Ayers Hall at the Los Angeles County Arboretum (located at 301 N. Baldwin Ave, Arcadia) on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Orchids, bromeliads, cacti, cycads, terrarium plants, begonias and tree ferns will among the exotic plants featured. Plant and plant related vendors will also be present.

There will be free workshops and talks each day:

Saturday

  • 11 a.m. Tim Lonegan – Mounting staghorn ferns.
  • 12:30 p.m. Nick Federoff of Things Green – Garden Radio program.
  • 1:30 p.m. Don Delano – Ferns & other plants in terrariums.

Sunday

  • 11 a.m. Tim Lonegan – Mounting staghorn ferns.
  • 12:30 p.m. Don Delano – Propagation via cuttings for ferns, begonias and other plants.
  • 1:30 p.m. Joyce Dean – Fairy gardens.
