Save the Seagrave Fire Engine

Did you know … the city currently has access to a 1917 Seagrave Fire Engine that started its life serving the Monrovia? At some point, the Seagrave left the service of the Monrovia Fire Department; however, it was discovered and purchased by a very generous citizen who returned it to Monrovia! And during the past few years, thanks to the generosity of many individuals who have donated their time and money, an intensive restoration effort is now underway!

However, we have an immediate need now that we wanted to publicize in the community. The Seagrave is turning 100 years old this year, and our annual Monrovia Days Parade will be held on May 20, 2017. We would love to have the Seagrave back in line and in the parade this year, but we need a new clutch before our century old fire engine can drive up Myrtle Avenue. To help with this effort, a GoFundMe page has been set-up, and we wanted to see if individuals would assist with raising some more money to get the Seagrave back up and running!
