Monrovia’s 26th Annual ‘Make a Difference Day’ Oct. 22

The 26th annual “Make a Difference Day” event will to take place on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Coordinated by the Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley, the event will start in Library Park.

This year’s event is dedicated to the Veterans in the community who so bravely served our nation.  Through the “Make a Difference Day,” the volunteers want to acknowledge the veterans’ sacrifice while expressing utmost sincere appreciated for their service.   There will be over 25 projects, including, Keep It Clean (KIC) Old Town Monrovia (a cleanup of alleyways in Old Town Monrovia), tree plantings at local Monrovia parks, and a “No Butts” park clean-up (picking up cigarette butts in City parks).  There is also be food sorting & a youth activity project hosted by Foothill Unity Center, a church clean-up project hosted by Bethel AME Methodist Church and improvements at the Monrovia High School baseball field.
