The Monrovia City Council has approved the funds for the Monrovia Renewal Project. This program looks to repair the city’s basic infrastructure. Among other actions, the council approved an increase to the sewer and water fees to pay for repairs to those systems while using various other funding sources to make repairs to the city’s streets.

The city has described the project as “a multi-year initiative to address priority repairs to aging infrastructure across the city.”

In order to insure that the repair work is done in a timely and orderly manner, the council appointed an oversight committee to watch over the project. This committee will meet on Wednesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at Monrovia Public Library. According to City Manager Oliver Chi, this meeting is an opportunity for members of the community to “learn what’s in the works and get your questions answered.”
