Wednesday’s Feb. 3 game moved the Monrovia Wildcats to the number one spot in the Rio Hondo League. Temple City came out with yet another strong defensive game. The Rams played tough despite their goalie Amber Greene unable to play and having Ariana Pinedo step in as keeper and losing co-captain defensive player Alexxis Molinar after being injured in the first half. The Rams were able to hold off the Wildcats strong offense but a Monrovia’s Michelle Palfrey was able to get the game winning shot in the last five minutes of play to secure the win with the final score of 1-0. Monrovia had nine shots on goal and Temple City finished with only two.
