
April 9
Shortly before 4:07 p.m., an officer responded to Sephora, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. Loss prevention specialists witnessed the suspect, a 15-year-old female from Duarte, select approximately $765.00 worth of merchandise before exiting the store, failing to make payment. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 11:35 p.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Duarte Road and Second Avenue for speeding. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver’s breath. The driver refused the field sobriety tests but consented to a blood test. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A passenger was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The 25-year-old male from Pomona was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
April 10
At approximately 11:06 a.m., an officer responded to Public Storage, 12340 Lower Azusa Road, regarding a burglary investigation. The officer discovered an unknown suspect entered the business through an unlocked door, pried open one of the units, and stole a large television. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Just after 11:41 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Southview Road regarding a vandalism report. The victim stated he found his vehicle with deep scratches that said, “food.” He believes his neighbors may be involved as a result of previous disagreements but no suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
April 11
Around 6:19 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Live Oak Avenue and Longden Avenue regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy packages containing bait property and tracking devices to combat the increase in package thefts from residential areas. An investigation revealed a 26-year-old male from Baldwin Park was in possession of the stolen package, property, and tracking device while riding a bicycle. The suspect dropped the property and attempted to flee on his bike. Officers located, arrested, and transported the suspect to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just before 8:46 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer determined an unknown suspect smashed a rear window and stole the victim’s costume jewelry sometime during the previous night. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
April 12
Shortly after 12:57 p.m., an officer responded the area of First Avenue and the 210 Freeway overpass regarding a subject asleep on the sidewalk. The officer contacted the subject and discovered he was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was unable to care for himself. A records check revealed the 41-year-old male from Los Angeles also had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 8:17 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Genoa Street regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect used the victim’s personal information to apply for several credit cards. The victim does not know the identity of the suspect or how they obtained their information.
April 13
At approximately 10:59 a.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding an attempted vehicle burglary report. A witness saw a male suspect break the window of a vehicle and flee in a vehicle with a female suspect. Both were apprehended and found with burglary tools inside their vehicle. The 17-year-old male from Azusa and 43-year-old female from Covina were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 9:29 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Portola Drive regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspects pried open a side door and ransacked the residence. The loss is unknown at the time of this report. The investigation is ongoing.
April 14
At about 9:19 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1900 block of South First Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim stated her 1994 Honda Accord had been stolen from her driveway sometime during the previous night. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Just before 10:21 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Highland Oaks Drive regarding an animal bite report. The officer determined two coyotes attacked two of the victim’s three small dogs while they were in his backyard. One dog was injured. The coyotes were gone by the time the officers arrived.
April 15
Shortly after 11:17 a.m., an officer responded to Tony’s Liquor, 809 West Huntington Drive, regarding an assault report. An investigation revealed the juvenile pedestrian was grazed by the suspect’s vehicle as she was trying to walk across a driveway. When the suspect parked, the altercation escalated and the suspect driver grabbed the victim by the hair, threw her to the ground, and kicked her. The suspect was located a short time later and the 26-year-old female from Los Angeles was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The victim sustained minor injuries.
At about 1:57 p.m., an officer responded to the parking lot of 298 East Live Oak Avenue regarding a vandalism report. The officer discovered an argument occurred between two drivers resulting in the suspect breaking the victim’s vehicle window. The 39-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
