$26,000 Raised for the Family of Slain Deputy

Hundreds of Law Enforcement officers from all over California including the Highway Patrol gathered at Temple Station to help raise funds for the family of slain Deputy Steven Owen on Wednesday.

Deputy Chefs created classic hamburgers, hot dogs with all the trimmings for hungry officers and deputies.

All the proceeds from the event will go directly to the family.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Owen family will hold a memorial service to celebrate the life, memory, and service of Sergeant Steve Owen. We tragically lost Steve on Wednesday, Oct 5, 2016, while he was performing his duties in the city of Lancaster, California, protecting the residents of Los Angeles County.

Owen’s funeral service on Thursday was one of the largest ever-held for a LASD deputy.  Thousands of officers, Firefighters, deputies from agencies all over the country attended to pay tribute to a fallen hero.
