In celebration of Constitution Week, the Santa Anita Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is presenting an exhibit in the children’s section of the Arcadia Public Library.

The exhibit features a copy of Howard Chandler Christy’s “Scene at the Signing of the Constitution of the United States,” a replica of the USS Constitution, two authentic copies of revolutionary era ladies’ day dresses, and more. The dresses are on loan from Karla Stahlman and Meg Stahlman, mother and daughter members of the Santa Anita Chapter, and are worn on special occasions and for commemorative events.

The Resolution to designate Sept. 17 through Sept. 23 as Constitution Week was introduced by Senator William F. Knowland of California and officially adopted on Aug. 2, 1956.

This exhibit was designed and coordinated by Darlene Besocke and Billie Tone, Constitution Week committee members. It will be on display through Friday, Sept. 29. Please call the library (626) 821-5567, for more details.
