At approximately 11 a.m. on, July 25, a suspect entered a vacuum store on Huntington Drive in Monrovia.

The suspect picked up a $600 vacuum and immediately exited the store, running with the item to catch the 187 Foothill Bus going west on Huntington.

The store manager yelled at the suspect and said “You’ll never get away with it, the Monrovia police are fast … ”

Within a matter of minutes the bus was pulled over and somehow the suspect ran to a back alley behind Smart Surgery Center where he was immediately handcuffed and the store manager confirmed the identity of the suspect.

Monrovia officers cited and released the suspect on the promise to appear in court on the charges of theft.  After witnessing officers release the suspect, the store manager, said … “Thanks, Proposition 47.”
