The City of Arcadia’s free summer entertainment continues on Thursday, Aug. 4 and Friday, Aug. 5.

The next summer concert will feature: Wartime Radio Revue (Patriotic) – National Night Out and Arcadia’s 113th Birthday!  National Night Out promotes crime prevention and awareness through police-community partnerships.  Arcadia’s Police and Fire Department will be joining us for this very special occasion.  Free fingerprinting for the kids, crime prevention materials, and other information will be available.  Stop by and show your support to Arcadia’s finest.  But wait … that is not it!  Help Arcadia celebrate our 113th birthday by enjoying some birthday cake (while supplies last). Wartime Radio Revue presents hits of the ‘30s and ‘40s, along with late-breaking news-stories from the war-years.

Wartime Radio Revue delivers several original songs and even some 1940-style radio commercials. Listening to this band is like taking a time-machine back to a World War II USO show. With female vocalists, a hot, driving rhythm section, and horn section, the “classic-swing” sound is both full and authentic!

When you add in “armed-forces style” khaki-colored uniforms, it’s all there! Formed in November of 1997, they quickly established themselves as one of the premier Big-Bands of Southern California. Arcadia will love this show.

The summer concerts are held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the lawn between city hall and the police department (240 W. Huntington Drive).

The Movies in the Park series continues on Friday evening, Aug. 5, with activities starting at 6:45 p.m. and the movie starting at dusk on the lawn between city hall and the police department (240 W. Huntington Drive).

Next movie presentation will feature “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (PG-13). Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a ragtag group of heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance.
