Arcadia Chamber of Commerce Features Guest Speaker Tarnie Fulloon
Gripping just a standard white ceramic coffee mug, Tarnie Fulloon dropped her once poised shoulders to demonstrate how stress wrecks the body’s functionality. Your body, like a coffee mug, is a vessel for the anxiety produced from an over-active mind and becomes weighed down by fatigue, pain, and overall disconnect. At the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s Networking Breakfast (April 21), held at Embassy Suites by Hilton in Arcadia, attendees learned how the body and business are particularly connected while appreciating their Earth Day themed banquet.
Tarnie Fulloon, the guest speaker at this month’s Networking Breakfast sponsored by Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary, is a transformational mentor and workshop leader specialized in resolving recurring pain in order to live joyfully. Under the floating hanging globes set against the crystal chandeliers, attendees sat round their filled tables and enjoyed fresh fruit parfaits, egg and cheese croissant sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, and crisp orange juice.
The esteemed Arcadia Business Icon for April was Hair by Debbi represented by Debbi Gronay, a trusted hairdresser in the community and dear friend of Chamber President Vicki Knight. The Business Spotlight winner, Darren Stubbs of Stubbies Promotions directed an efficient three-minute campaign focused on advancing your business’ branding needs. The always anticipated testimonials exchanged between members and the business card raffle giveaway closed the morning with gratification and farewell conversations.
Referring to the example between the coffee mug and body, Tarnie explained that our culture of thinking has prompted us to focus on solving problems with only our minds, often disregarding how our bodies are affected by the anxiety we “push” into them. Ultimately, connection with the body is key to letting go of stress by putting that proverbial mug down and attaining freedom. Her BodyFreedom Method is the way to realize one’s true authentic self and to attain that freedom. Asking attendees in a composed tone to plant their feet on the floor and close their eyes, it was a remarkable experience to witness over 60 professionals yield their attention and expectations to Tarnie without hesitation. A general sense of release was perceptible and was a testimony to Tarnie’s work as a motivational healer.
The next Networking Breakfast will be held once again at Embassy Suites by Hilton in Arcadia on May 19, with the featured speaker Gene Glasco of the Arcadia Vietnam War Monument.
