Santa Anita Derby Day 5K Run April 9

Join the Santa Anita Derby Day 5K run on Saturday April 9, 2016 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Course starts and finishes at the legendary Santa Anita Park. Start line is an official racetrack starting gate. The flat, fast course runs through the beautiful L.A. Arboretum and finishes on the track. There will be live entertainment provided by Kelly’s Lot.

Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and at 8 a.m., the 5K Run – Wave Starts. At 8:20 a.m., the 5K Walk begins. This is followed by the 9:45 a.m. Kid’s 6-Furlong Race for 7-12 years, and finished up with the 10:05 a.m. Homestretch Dash for 6 and under.

Entry fee includes admission to the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby. Event features a Post-Race Party on the infield including live music, fabulous food and beer garden. Chip timing for 5K and Kid’s Race. T-shirts & finisher medals for all. Fees are Senior (60+) $30 (after April 1, $35); youth (18 and under) $20 (After April 1, $25); Adult $36; Adult Race Day $40.

All proceeds benefit Arcadia High School, El Monte High School, Alhambra High School, Arroyo High School, Arcadia Historical Museum, and CARMA (Funds for Retired California racehorses).

Finisher medals for all! Awards given to top three male and female finishers in each age division. $700 Seabiscuit Prize purse to be distributed between masters and open top three male and female.
