Arcadia Chamber of Commerce Program Includes Former Mayors Panel
The Arcadia City Manager’s annual State of the City address, at the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Planning Conference on Jan. 28, 2016, will be even more comprehensive than usual for business and organization leaders, as well as the community. L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Community Relations Manager Lilian De Loza-Gutierrez will give one of the first formal detailed presentations about what to expect when the Gold Line light rail service begins six weeks later on March 5th. The Conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel Arcadia.
The Planning Conference will be from 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28th. Host sponsor Embassy Suites Arcadia is providing a full breakfast buffet before the program begins and will offer drinks and light pastries throughout the morning in the remodeled ballroom.
A video recap of the recent 50th anniversary celebration of the iconic Arcadia Chamber of Commerce office building, including an opening of a time capsule buried in 1965, will also be presented by Chamber CEO Scott Hettrick.
Sponsors who contribute $1,000 join Embassy Suites in getting their branding on all promotion for the event and the option of a 10-minute presentation at the program. Contact the Chamber at (626) 447-2159 or e-mail: info@ArcadiaCaChamber.org.
Last year’s Former Mayor’s Panel provided a very popular addition to the program, highlighted by the State of the City address. Dominic Lazzaretto provided a wealth of information in 2015 that is still referenced nearly a year later, including previews of many upcoming developments and city initiatives, like the new City of Arcadia website that recently launched. This year, three of those former mayors are considering running for re-election, so the State of the City address will be greatly expanded to include FAQs from the police and fire chiefs and other department heads relative to commonly asked questions and issues, as well as valuable tips on how business and residents can make their own lives easier, more efficient and safer.
The conference is an extension of the Chamber’s monthly meeting of the Board of Directors. This year’s Citizen of the year and Corporate Community Contributor will also be announced for the first time at the Planning Conference.
Tickets are $25 and may be purchased online at http://arcadiacachamber.org/shop/planning-conference/, by calling the Chamber office at (626) 447-2159 or e-mailing to: Info@ArcadiaCaChamber.org.
In addition to a brief convening of a regular meeting agenda of the Chamber Board of Directors, the agenda also includes a summary of the Chamber’s accomplishments over the past year by President Andrew Gregson of Hart Mieras & Morris and The Executive Factor. Incoming President Vicki Knight will present her plans and goals for the Chamber in 2016-17, as well as a call to action.
