Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report
For the period of Sunday, October 18th, through Saturday, October 24th, the Police Department responded to 1,003 calls for service of which 146 required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.

October 18

Around 6:47 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a theft report. The officer determined an unknown suspect stole the victim’s wallet, containing two credit cards and $160 cash, and made fraudulent purchases with the credit cards. The total loss was valued at more than $2,200. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 9:11 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Christina Lane regarding a burglary. The officer discovered a burglary occurred sometime between August 29th and today’s date, while the residents were out of town. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located. No loss was reported.

October 19

Shortly after 1:22 a.m., an officer initiated consensual contact with a subject in the area of Campus Drive and El Monte Avenue. During a consensual search of the individual, the officer located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The 21-year-old male from San Diego was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 11:10 a.m., an officer responded to a residence under construction in the 000 block of West Arthur Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect forcefully entered the residence and stole copper pipes. The total loss was valued at $500. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

October 20

At approximately 12:42 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of San Rafael Road and Huntington Drive for having expired registration. A records check of the vehicle revealed the registration had expired; however, the vehicle displayed a 2016 registration sticker. The driver, a 22-year-old male from Rosemead, knowingly placed the forged sticker on his vehicle. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just after 8:33 p.m., an officer responded to the Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim stated an unknown suspect entered her vehicle by prying the rear hatch window and stole the third row seat. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

October 21

Shortly after 2:46 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, 300 West Huntington Drive, regarding a subject causing a disturbance. The officer discovered the 28-year-old male from Arcadia was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At about 5:05 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of El Monte Avenue and Duarte Road for having outstanding warrants attached to the license plate. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered the 61-year-old male from El Monte was driving with a suspended license. He was cited and released in the field. The vehicle was released to a licensed passenger.

October 22

At approximately 1:18 p.m., an officer responded to an apartment complex in the 400 block of West Duarte Road regarding a vandalism report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect pried open the mail boxes. There was no reported loss at the time of the report. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Around 5:16 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a domestic dispute. An investigation revealed a physical altercation occurred between a husband and wife resulting in the husband choking his wife. The 37-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

October 23

At about 1:34 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Fifth Avenue and Foothill Boulevard for speeding. Upon contacting the driver, the 42-year-old male from El Monte admitted to being in possession of a dagger. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just after 5:18 p.m., an officer responded to the Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed two females were arguing when the victim claimed she was struck by the 49-year-old female from Duarte. The investigation is ongoing.

October 24

At about 1:30 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Baldwin Avenue for no apparent reason. The officer located a subject slumped over the steering wheel of the vehicle and detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 28-year-old male from Arcadia was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 11:47 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Duarte Road and Sunset Boulevard for having the headlights turned off. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit concluded when the vehicle collided with a telephone pole near the intersection of Temple City Boulevard and Olive Street. The suspect had fled on foot by the time officers located the vehicle. An area check located the suspect in a backyard nearby. A records check of the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen out of South El Monte. A search of the vehicle produced a small bag of methamphetamine. The suspect also had an outstanding felony warrant. The 20-year-old male from South El Monte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
