If you are of an age to be reading Dorothy’s Place then I suspect you are of an age to enjoy the same thing that I did this week, so you must trust me and do what I did. You owe it to yourself.
I went to see the movie A Walk in the Woods with Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. I tell you, I laughed like I had thought I never would again in this lifetime.
The laughter starts, believe it or not, when an aging Redford attends one more funeral than he cares to. As he goes through the condolence line, the widow, trying to keep a stiff upper lip, says, “Thank you for coming.” Redford, trying to be proper, replies, “Our pleasure.”
At the end of the service Redford decides he must do something special before attending his own funeral. He decides to hike the Appalachian Trail. A very physically out-of-shape Nolte agrees to join him. I tell you, dear Reader, you too must join them for two hours of pure fun – one giggle and belly-laugh after another.
Afterwards, to top it off, I suggest you stop at Matt Denny’s Restaurant on Huntington Drive in Arcadia for a yummy meal. There is a wide selection but my absolute favorite is the bountiful Reuben sandwich with sides. That’s what my friend and I had while we re-hashed and re-giggled our walk in the woods.
