State of City, Major Development Plans at Arcadia Chamber Planning Conference Jan. 22

A panel of five former Arcadia Mayors and the numerous developments on the horizon for Arcadia will be highlighted Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Planning Conference, January 22 at Embassy Suites Hotel Arcadia.
Among developments in the works: a new $30 million state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz showroom, additions to Santa Anita Park horse race track and Westfield Santa Anita mall, and proposed major residential and commercial developments in Downtown Arcadia near the new Gold Line station and in south Arcadia.
The event will feature presentations by executive representatives from some of the projects and by Arcadia City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto in his annual State of the City address. The conference, an extension of the Chamber’s monthly meeting of the Board of Directors that is open to any of the 500 Arcadia Chamber members as well as other local Chambers, runs from 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online or by calling the Chamber office at 626-447-2159.
A brief history and impact of the 94 year-old Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, featuring little-seen historical photos, will also be presented by Chamber CEO Scott Hettrick as the Chamber prepares for a 50th anniversary celebration this fall of its iconic office building.
The five former Arcadia Mayors, Peter Amundson, George Fasching, Bob Harbicht, Jim Helms, and Floretta Lauber, will share their most interesting challenges while in office and offer thoughts on future commercial plans and challenges for the city.
