Lancers outscore Arcadia 10-8

The La Salle Lancers hosted their first home game of the season against Arcadia high school.  The two teams had already met this season with La Salle coming out on top. La Salle came into the game looking to keep the record between the two teams in their favor. The Lancers started out the game on a strong note scoring three goals in the 1st quarter.  Alexander Thomas scored the first and last goal of the quarter with Robert Griffith putting away one of his own. Arcadia wasn’t, quieted ending the quarter with a goal of their own. At the beginning of the 2nd, the Lancers came out cold allowing the Apaches to draw two ejections and capitalize on both, bringing the game to a tie.  This was enough to spark a fire within Hunter Xue, who went on to score two back to back goals ending the half 5-3 in favor of La Salle. In the 3rd the Lancers went on to extend their lead adding two to their total and only allowing one for Arcadia, bringing the total to 7-4. The Lancer goals came from Brian Boull’t scoring his first of the game and one more from Xue. The 4th quarter became a nail biter with arcadia going on a 3-1 run bringing the score to 7-8 with fifty seconds left in the quarter, the Lancer goal was score by Thomas bringing his total to 3 on the day.  But the Lancers showed that they could perform under pressure and scored two back to back goals from Senior Justin Zumel and Xue who ended the day with 4. The Lancers pull of their first home win the season and are looking for many more as the years go on.
