Pasadena Unified to host community forums

The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) will host community forums February 5 and 6 to inform parents and the community about the formulation of the district’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and how stakeholders can participate in the process. The LCAP is part of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) legislation which changed how state funds are allocated to schools. LCFF requires the inclusion of parents, including parents or legal guardians of students who are socio-economically disadvantaged, English learners or foster youth in the planning and implementation of the LCFF. The forums are part of a larger scale effort by PUSD to solicit input from parents, students and the community in the development of its three-year LCAP which must be completed by June 30, 2014.
English/Spanish translation and child care for school-age children will be provided at both forums.
For more information on the LCAP and to view documents and presentations by PUSD staff, visit www.gopusd.com/LCAP.
