Gov. appoints Pasadena man to California Board of Parole Hearings

Richard Guerrero, 64, of Pasadena, has been appointed to the California Board of Parole Hearings. Guerrero has been a special agent at the California Department of Justice since 2006. He was senior special investigator at the California Horse Racing Board from 2001 to 2006 and held multiple positions at the Los Angeles Police Department from 1974 to 2000, including sergeant and officer. Guerrero earned a Master of Leadership degree from the University of Southern California, School of Policy, Planning and Development. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $111,845. Guerrero is a Republican.
