On August 5, 2013 at approximately 0050, Pasadena Police Officers responded to the 100 block of East Colorado Boulevard following 911 call of a combative subject inside a restaurant in Old Pasadena. A subsequent caller reported that a male Hispanic was lying in the street injured. Police located an adult male lying unresponsive in the roadway. Paramedics transported the victim to Huntington Hospital, where he was admitted with a critical head injury.
Pasadena Homicide Detectives responded and began their investigation. At 0528 hours, the Pasadena Police Department was advised by an El Monte area hospital that two males had been admitted with stab wounds they reportedly suffered during a fight in Old Pasadena.
Pasadena Police Officers responded to the hospital and determined that the two males were involved in the attack that resulted in victim’s injury. The males, identified as Jonas Ramos (Hispanic male-24, San Gabriel resident) and Angel Moroyoqui (Hispanic male-21, El Monte resident) were arrested for attempted murder. A third individual, Bania Aguirre (Hispanic female-24, El Monte resident) was located with Ramos and Moroyoqui and arrested for accessory after the fact.
On August 6, 2013 at 0120 hours, victim Joshua Martinez (Hispanic male-25, Los Angeles resident) succumbed to his injuries. Mr. Martinez was an active Marine Reservist stationed at Camp Pendleton, San Diego County.
Suspects Jonas Ramos and Angel Moroyoqui were rebooked for murder and remain in custody at the Los Angeles County Jail, held on $1,000,000.00 bail. Suspect Bania Aguirre was released on bond on August 6, 2013. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration on August 7, 2013.
