KALM Talent Group Artist to Perform New Single Live at Genghis Cohen in West Hollywood, California

Pop-folk-indie artist Katie Ekin, who recently signed with KALM Talent Group, has released the first single and title track of her new EP, “Caught Up In You.” The highly-anticipated song from the award-winning singer/songwriter, now live on kalmtalentagency.com, is also available for download on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.
“I actually came up with the melody for Caught Up In You while driving back from San Francisco after a show. I was so excited, I used my phone’s voice memos to record so I wouldn’t forget it,” said Katie who calls songwriting, not just her passion, but her lifestyle. “As soon as I got home I grabbed my guitar and wrote the song in about 15 minutes. The inspiration was of course about a guy who was kind of oblivious even though I was totally smitten.”
Katie will perform “Caught Up In You” live as part of her featured set during the West Coast Songwriters showcase at Genghis Cohen in West Hollywood on Thursday December 13, 2012 beginning at 7:00pm.
“Caught Up In You” is the latest in more than 200 original songs written by Katie. The prestigious West Coast Songwriters competitions have led to eight of Katie’s ten awards thus far which include three for Best Performance, four for Best Song and one for the coveted Hollywood Chapter’s Song of the Year.
“Katie Ekin has a mature songwriting style that is complimented by a unique ability to transform personal life experiences into award-winning songs,” said KALM Talent Group Founder Kerry Kessel. “There is a compelling raw, no-nonsense style to her songwriting and music that leaves you wanting more.”
And more there will be as Katie and the KALM Talent Group team plan for the next exciting steps in her burgeoning music career. Plans for a debut album of original professionally produced songs will be announced in the near future.
Katie Ekin’s original holiday themed song “Underneath The Christmas Tree” can be heard NOW at kalmtalentagency.com.
