Cat and Dog Vaccine Clinic Coming to Sierra Madre – Nov. 8

Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA Hosting Public Event at Memorial Park

Does Fluffy or Fido need an update on their rabies shots? The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA will provide various inoculations for cats and dogs on Thursday, November 8 at Memorial Park, 222 West Sierra Madre Boulevard, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Sierra Madre.
The following vaccinations will be available along with respective pricing and age requirements:
Rabies – $6 Dogs 4 months and older, cats 3 months and older
6-in-1 (DHLPP) – $15 Dogs 8 weeks and older
Bordetella (kennel cough) – $15 Dogs 8 weeks and older
4-in-1 (FVRCP) – $15 Cats 8 weeks and older
All dogs four months of age and older are required by state, county and city ordinances to be vaccinated against rabies. The rabies vaccine provides three years of protection for dogs 12 months and older, one year protection for dogs four to 11 months and for cats from 3 months of age. Protection of pets against diseases other than rabies is not required by law, but is recommended for the well being of the animal.
“We’re here to help families keep their pets healthy,” says Ricky Whitman, Vice President of Community Relations for the agency. “We hold vaccine clinics frequently to help pet owners take the best care possible of their pets.”
Dog licenses for Sierra Madre, along with Arcadia, La Cañada Flintridge, San Marino and South Pasadena will be available for purchase as well. Pet owners can also have their dog or cat microchipped during the clinic for $20, which includes registration. All dogs must be on leash, and cats must be in carriers. PHS staff recommends residents arrive early to avoid long lines. The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA is contracted by the City of Sierra Madre to conduct all animal control and welfare services. The event is open to all members of the public. Visit www.pasadenahumane.org for more information.
