Authorities identify man fatally shot in Rosemead

Los Angeles County authorities on Thursday identified a 35-year-old man who was fatally shot in Rosemead.

Homicide investigators responded around 3:50 p.m. Wednesday to the 8400 block of Fern Avenue, near the Alhambra Wash. Deputies from the Temple Sheriff’s Station requested assistance with a shooting death investigation, according to the LA County Sheriff’s Department.

The county Medical Examiner Department identified the victim as Rosemead resident J Jesus Orozco Jr. He was located in the area and pronounced dead at the scene.

Details about the shooting and the motive remained sparse Friday. The LASD provided no description of a suspect as detectives continued to investigate.
