Native culture and artistry take center stage at the Pechanga Pow Wow, returning to the Summit Events Center this Friday through Sunday. Pow wows, by definition, are Native American gatherings where American Indians sing, dance, reconnect with old friends, and celebrate their rich ancestral histories.
Pechanga’s free, three-day event hosts hundreds of tribes from across the U.S. and Canada to showcase unique styles of dance, song, and tribal traditions from their respective regions. Enjoy performances, Native American food, artisan crafts, and fireworks for an interactive cultural event for all ages.
The Masters of Ceremonies will guide the festivities and announce all events, dances, ceremonies, and protocols. Etiquette for the event includes maintaining the dance floor clear for participants, removing hats during the flag and honor songs, and following guidelines for photography.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. on Friday with a grand entry set for 7 p.m. On Saturday, gates will open at 11 a.m. followed by grand entries at 1 and 8 p.m. On Sunday, doors will open at 11 a.m. with a grand entry set for 1 p.m.
