The 2026 Homeless Count in Duarte needs volunteers, officials said last week.

The count is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. The deployment site is the Duarte Senior Center, 1610 Huntington Drive.

Each year Duarte and cities across Los Angeles County tally of the number of people living unhoused in their communities. Officials said the count is made possible by volunteers and provides data on the extent of homelessness in the region. Annual data determines how LA-area homelessness agencies distribute resources and services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

City officials encouraged volunteers to form “Count Team Bubbles” with friends, family and coworkers. Volunteers without a team can join one at the deployment site.
