The annual fall fundraiser Take a Bite Out of Cancer is set for early next month in Arcadia to help families who find themselves on the pediatric cancer journey they never imagined they would have to take, organizers said.
The doors of the Arcadia Community Center, 365 Campus Drive, open Oct. 4 at 4:45 p.m. Attendees will find food from a variety of vendors along with live and silent auctions, complimentary wine or beer and featured speaker Priscilla Zaragoza, mother of 4-year-old Micah Zaragoza.
The evening also feature live entertainment by comedienne and live auctioneer Amy Ashton and Nader Hanna, a magician and mentalist.
An experienced auctioneer, Ashton has appeared on Superbowl Poppi Soda commercials, HBO, Netflix, Comedy Central and was a writer for the late Joan Rivers, according to event organizers. She has regular appears on the television talk show circuit.
“This Empowerment Comedian performs locally, worldwide and for over 500 corporations including Google and Facebook,” organizers said.
Hanna has performed at the Magic Castle, NBC Universal, at corporate events, and for major celebrities, including film directors John Landis, Joe Dante and Tippi Hedren, organizers reported. His “mind-bending show is an exhilarating journey into the impossible.”
The fundraiser’s Fun Photobooth is another event attraction that provides customized photo art, prints, instant digital sharing, digital album and props.
Tickets purchased before Sept. 21 cost $80. Tickets bought on or after Sept. 21 are $90. A reserved table for 10 with an Open Bar is $1,500.
