Baldwin Park Aquatic Center offering swim lessons

The City of Baldwin Park Recreation and Community Services Department is offering a variety of aquatic programs and activities, including swim lessons and recreational swim time, for all ages at the Baldwin Park Aquatic Center (4100 Baldwin Park Blvd.).

“Our aquatics programs are a point of pride for our city,” said Baldwin Park Mayor Alejandra Avila. “Especially during the hot summer months, it’s important for our community to have a place to cool down, stay active and connect with one another. The Aquatic Center isn’t just about swimming, it’s about bringing people together and making memories that last a lifetime.”

Throughout the summer, the Baldwin Park Aquatic Center will host swim lessons for all ages. For children aged 6 months to 17 years, swim lessons are $45 for residents and $60 for non-residents. For adults, the cost is $55 for residents and $75 for non-residents. The available swim lesson courses include:

  • Parent and Child (ages 0-3)
  • Preschool (ages 3-6)
  • Level 1 – Introduction to Water Skills (ages 6-17)
  • Level 2 – Fundamental Aquatic Skills (ages 6-17)
  • Level 3 – Stroke Development (ages 6-17)
  • Level 4 – Stroke Improvement (ages 6-17)
  • Level 5 – Stroke Refinement (ages 6-17)
  • Adult (ages 18 and older)

Additionally, the city will offer recreational swim times five days a week through Aug. 16. For youth aged 17 and under, the cost is $3 for residents and $4 for non-residents. Adults aged 18 to 54 will pay $4 for residents and $5 for non-residents. Seniors aged 55 and older will be charged $1 for residents and $2 for non-residents. Below is the schedule for summer recreational swim times:

  • Mondays and Tuesdays from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m.
  • Fridays from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 1:30 to 5 p.m.

Registration for each program operates on a first-come, first-served basis and will remain open until the classes are filled. To register for any of the classes, visit the Esther Synder Community Center (4100 Baldwin Park Blvd.) on Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. or Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Have a current California Driver’s License or ID and a utility bill to prove residence.
