Beach Streets Open Streets is set to take place in West Long Beach on Saturday, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hosted by the City of Long Beach and presented by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), Beach Streets opens the streets for people to bike, walk and explore their neighborhoods.
“Beach Streets is not just about bringing us all together to promote sustainable and healthy living—it’s about uplifting our beautiful neighborhoods and celebrating our diverse and vibrant community,” said Mayor Rex Richardson. “This year, we are especially proud to align the event with our Westside Promise Initiative and to showcase our unwavering commitment to supporting and improving the quality of life for residents in West Long Beach.”
This year’s event route will feature Willow Street and Santa Fe Avenue. Entertainment hubs along the route will feature live music, a kid zone, food trucks and more. More information regarding this year’s event, including a more detailed event route, entertainment, activities and other highlights, will be provided by the city at a later date.
“We are thrilled to host this year’s Beach Streets event, which every year opens our streets for people to explore the city’s unique neighborhoods and support local businesses” said Vice Mayor and Seventh District Councilmember Roberto Uranga. “By aligning this year’s event with Westside Promise, we are not only highlighting our vibrant community—we are building a healthier, safer and stronger West Long Beach.”
