Senior couple goes missing, possibly headed to Alhambra

Two seniors in their 80s were reported missing in northeast Los Angeles County, authorities said Saturday.

Sheriff’s Department Missing Persons Unit investigators sought the public’s help locating Maria Asuncion Munoz, 82, and her 83-year-old husband Jesus Munoz. Maria Munoz was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and Jesus Munoz suffers from anxiety, authorities said.

They were last seen about 2 p.m. Sunday, April 20 in the 4200 block of Milburn Avenue in an unincorporated area of the county. According to the sheriff’s department, the couple’s possible destination was the Costco store in Alhambra at 2207 W. Commonwealth Ave.

Maria and Jesus Munoz were traveling in a white, 2007 Nissan Pathfinder with the California license plate 7BAF335, authorities said.

Maria Munoz is 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighs 95 pounds and has gray hair and brown eyes, according to the sheriff’s department.

Jesus Munoz is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 137 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black leather jacket and dark pants.

Authorities said the couple’s “loved ones are concerned for (their) well-being and asking for your help.”
