Authorities sought the public’s help in locating an 83-year-old man reported missing Thursday in Monrovia.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert in Los Angeles County to help locate David Mendoza, who was last seen about 6:30 a.m. Thursday on foot in Duarte near Huntington Drive and Bradbury Avenue.

Mendoza was described as Latino, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a gray hat, brown jacket, gray pants and gray shoes.

Authorities asked anyone with information on Mendoza’s whereabouts to call 911 or the Monrovia Police Department, 626-256-8000.

The CHP’s Silver Alert program issues and coordinates alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of people who are elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired.
