The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was continuing an investigation Monday into the stabbing deaths of a woman and man in Azusa.

Officers from the Azusa Police Department responded Saturday at about 2 p.m. to a report of a person screaming and possible domestic violence in the 300 block of North Twintree Avenue, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Upon arrival, the officers detained a male suspect in front of the residence who “had sustained numerous apparent knife wounds.”

Police entered the home and discovered “a male adult and female adult suffering from numerous apparent knife wounds,” authorities said. Los Angeles County Fire Department responders pronounced the individuals deceased.

The injured man was transported to an area hospital where he is in critical condition.

On Monday the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Department identified the deceased individuals as 50-year-old Linda Rodriguez and Timothy Alder, 57.
