Texas Roadhouse is set to come to the heart of West Covina. The restaurant is set to be located at the north-east corner of Plaza West Covina, along South California Avenue, just west of the Plaza’s current Jamba Juice location. It will be located where the former California Pizza Kitchen and Chevy’s were situated. The proposed 8,800 square foot restaurant will serve customer favorites like hand-cut steaks and ribs.
“We’re delighted to bring the Texas Roadhouse experience to West Covina,” said Steve Ortiz, franchise owner of the future Texas Roadhouse restaurant, “We’re not just opening a restaurant; we’re creating a place where families and friends can gather to enjoy legendary food and create lasting memories. We are also very excited to create so many new jobs within the West Covina area.”
The city has entered into a 90-day Exclusive Negotiating Agreement with Texas Roadhouse’s franchise ownership, Project Passion Restaurant Group for the sale of the city owned property. Subsequent steps of the project will include entering into a Purchase and Sale Agreement, subdivision of the property and the subsequent sale of the property and entitlements for the development.
“We’re excited to bring another great establishment to West Covina,” said Mayor Tony Wu. “Our goal is to continue to bring dining experiences to the city that feel welcoming and comfortable, where guests can relax, enjoy great food, and celebrate special moments.”
